Tiny cup with thick dark hairs which cover the hymenium when dry.  They open when hydrated revealing the white/off-white hymenium, which can be a jelly-like mass.  Spores hyaline, slightly curved and some are 5-septate.  Hairs are brown and thick-walled under the scope and non-septate.  Spores measure around 8-13?m by 1.5-2?m.  That's about all I know.  Any assistance would be appreciated.  Thanks!

Hi Ethan,

probably something like Pseudolachnea/Dinemasporium or some similar genus.

Best wishes,
Gernot

Thank you Gernot!  That should get me started.

I agree with Gernot, that this is similar to Pseudolachnea/Dinemasporium/Pseudolachnella. Dinemasporium has spore not septate. Although you said that some spore have 5 septa, in your images I was able to see a single septum. Additionally, the spore size you provide didn't fit any Pseudolachnella species (which have multiseptate spores), but fits with Pseudolachnea hispidula, which is monotypic according to Nag Raj (1993).

Dartanha, you are right.  There is only one septum.  I was mistaking the shadow made by oil droplets for septa.  Also I was able to get some more accurate spore measurements:  10-13?m by 1.5-2?m.  I think Pseudolachnea hispidula is it!
