Dasyscyphus sp?
William Slosse, 21-08-2016 14:10
William SlosseI found this species growing on old, dead Phragmitesstems lying on marshy soil in Alnuswood.
Asci 30.83x4.67mu.
Paraphyses (75.66x4.72 mu) lanceoate, projecting strongly beyond the aci.
Spores hyaline (9.91) 8.25x1.99 (1.66) mu.
Hairs hyaline till very slightly brownish, finely encrusted and not (?) septated.
Anyone an idea?
Many thx in advance,

William

Re : Dasyscyphus sp?
It is probably Lachnum controvesrum (earlier Dasyscyphus), but I would be more sure when I saw it in the living state. Paraphyses should be multiguttulate. You don't have it fresh?
Asci should be without croziers.

Re : Dasyscyphus sp?
Hallo Zotto,
thx for your reply.
All of the pictures were taken from fresh material in water. Maybe the specimen was to young?
I personally had acutipilus in mind, but the spores aren't biseriate.

Re : Dasyscyphus sp?
Hallo William
maybe you squashed too strongly, a frequent mistake. You can take a needle and try to make the piece smaller in the water drop before you gently put the cover glass. Young doesn't harm, the immature apothecia are also full of drops in controversum, but none in Albotricha acutipila which has also much longer, gradually pointed hairs.

Re : Dasyscyphus sp?
Thx for your advice, Zotto? I must have squashed to firmely indeed.
I will soonly take another try to examine the material.
