Hyalopeziza on a Betula leaf
Marja Pennanen, 13-09-2016 10:27
Hello forum.

last year I found a Hyalopeziza on Betula leaf, which was determined H. cf. tianschanica by Seppo. Now I found something similar, but not quite.

The fruitbodies are about 0,1 mm wide,
The spores are 5-7x2-3 and have polar droplets, which makes them dufferent from the ealier finding, where I did not see droplets and the spores are wider.
The asci are about 20-35x 6-8 and seems IKI-, last year faint IKI blue.
The hairs are with lumen, up to 90x3-4 and there are shorter a bit Cistella like hairs, too.

The macrophotos were this time a mission impossible ;)

Ideas?

Marja

Re : Hyalopeziza on a Betula leaf
could it be Venturiocistella diversipila?

Hmm, very interesting. But Venturiocistella has dark brown setae.
No idea!

Hi Thomas, Zotto,

thank you for your opinions. So Hyalopeziza sp. must be enough now for a determination
As far as I know, Seppo is busy now and I have to dry the scanty specimen, which I collected in a place hard to reach, that I doupt I do not visit any more this season.

Hello Marja,

Seppo is indeed busy with Agarics right now, but if you think the sample will make it, I'll be at the Stockholm museum until Wednesday 21th. After that on a long field trip.
