Tubeufia cerea?
Steve Clements, 06-06-2017 09:57
Bonjour,

Je pense que nous avons trouvé Tubeufia cerea sur Diatrype stigma, mais je ne le connais pas. J'ai raison?

We found this tiny brown asco on Diatrype stigma. I think it is Tubeufia cerea but I am not familiar with this species, so it would be good to have a verification.
Size - up to 0.5 mm
Asci - to approx 100 x 8. Tips not blueing in iodine
Spores - e.g. 55x3, 9-septate
No hairs or paraphyses noted

Cordialement,
Steve

Re : Tubeufia cerea?

Bonjour Steve,

It looks like, indeed.

And I suppose the little white fungi are apothecia of Polydesmia pruinosa.

Both (with a Pseudocosmospora species and  Bisporella sulurina) come frequently on Diatrype.

Alain

Hi all,
often one also thinks between the perithecies conidiophores (see arrows) with beautiful helicosporous conidiospores. Has thought we the species on some pyrenomycetes and once on wild boar dung.
Greetings Peter.

Re : Tubeufia cerea?
We have found some helical-spored fungi recently.
This one was a yellowish green crust on o log.

Re : Tubeufia cerea?
Yes, this is the anamorphe state, Helicosporium virescens , in mass the conidiospores are yellow- greenish,
good to see on your pictures.
Greetings Peter.

And this was a grey one on a holly (Ilex) stick.
