Hello forum,I have a question about Starbäck's work:
He described Humaria delectans as "J+" (1898), later Saccardo (1902) reprinted it as "ascis [...] jodi ope caerulescentibus" and for this reason, Boudier (1907) placed the taxon into Aleuria Fr. (which is Peziza in contemporary sense). But Svr?ek (1974, combination into Kotlabaea) and Wang et al (2016, comb. into Geopyxis) studied type material and stated that the asci are inamyloid.
I wonder how is it possible, that Starbäck wrote J+ - a typo? Did he mean something else than amyloid asci (it's written on the end of taxon description)? Printer's error? Starbäck's misinterpretation of what he saw? Or another reason?
Thank you in advance for any opinions.
