Found on deer dung.Ascomata: yellow with setae growing sideways and arising from the lower part of the receptacles.
Ascus: 404x338 um
Setae: superficial; 63-118x2.8-4.7 um (at the base); straight; thick-walled up to 3.9 um; 3-7 septate; pointed or round top.
In one occasion wide seta with rounded top; 137x20.5 um (at the base); thick-walled 1.85 um.
Spores: subglobose and globose; 12.4-13.7x10.4-10.95 um

Absolutely, the closely related species T. sphaerosporus has smaller and normally more spherical spores.
