White Hymenoscyphus on bark

Hello.Here is a Hymenoscyphus species growing on bark (probably Fagus) in a wet place.
Apothecia Ø 1-1.8 mm, sessile or short-stalked, pure wihite.
Ectal excipulum of t. prismatica.
Asci without crozier, pars sporifera 26-32 µm, IKI+ (bb)
Paraphyses without VB
Ascospores 11-14 (18) × 3-4 µm, sometimes with a septum (only when ejected), OCI 1-2.
H. phyllogenus seems close, but the substrate is different.

this reminds me strongly of my Hymenosc./Phaeohelotium "Cagne" on coniferous wood. See my folder "monticola".
The VBs in the paraphyses are multiguttulate and vary between faintly and medim refractive.
So far 3x on coniferous wood in Vosges.
Did you look for the wood anatomy? In cross section coniferous wood is easily determined, and Fagus also.

Not easy to study the anatomy of rotten bark... As there were some Picea abies in the same place, this is an option.
I agree that this H. "Cagne" could fit, although the VB in the paraphyses are not so distinct in my collection.

Ah yes, you wrote bark. Bark is not easy to identify. Is there no adherent wood? Fagus bark has a very characteristic inner side.
