Hi!
This one grows on the inner side of bark of Populus tremula. Apothecia small (0.2-0.5 mm in diam when dry). Stalk up to twice as long as apo diameter. Stalk and excipulum covered with blackish hairs. Hairs/hyphae on stalk dark brown i TL, more or less covered with dark granules. Hairs towards rim of apothecia paler and with less or no granules. Spore aseptate (?), ellipsoid, 6-8 x 2 microns, with multiple small guttules (in water). IKI not checked. The bark is covered with a black "subiculum", but I doubt it belongs to this fungus. I am thinking Lasiobelonium or thereabout, but do not find a good fit. Suggestions appreciated. Thanks!

This needs infos about asci and their IKI reaction, paraphyses, and excipulum texture.
For the moment I have no idea.

The paraphyses to me are rather broad, and somewhat lanceolate. They (at least some) seem to be heavily incrusted, reminescent of basidiomycete cystidia.
Ascus pore is "T-shaped", staining blue with Lugol after KOH pre-treatment.
Excipulum to me appears "textura porrecta" with parallel, intertwined hypha (hyaline below the brown, grainy ones).

what about those dark Trichopezizas, atroviolacea or purpureonigra? Some dark lumps on the hairs are visible in the first photos. Would be useful to know how asci react in Lugol without KOH-pretreatment, at least in atroviolacea they are red.

In fact Viktorie, this is the solution! The spores are a bit small but perhaps because they are dead. The fungus usually occurs in abundance. In fact the apos had sometimes such a long stipe.
Was this a fallen trunk with adhering bark? I would be pleased to mention this sample with its collection data in my planned paper, if you don't mind.

I just tested Lugol without pre-treatment and the ascus pore did stain reddish-brown. So which species is it? I didn't find any of the suggested names in Index Funforum.
Here are collections details:
Norway: Møre og Romsdal, Skodje, Ørnakken
Date: 27 Nov 2019
Substrate: On the inner side of bark of Populus tremula trunk lying on the ground.
Leg: Oddvar Olsen (collection number OOL-20.77).
PS. It grew intermixed with Perichaena corticalis (myxomycete), which appears to favour this substrate.

The species is undescribed as it seems, but known to me since almost 30 years.
Also the genus is not easy to resolve. At the moment I call it Trichopeziza atroolivacea, an earlier ID was T. cf. flavofuliginea, but this old taxon was probably something else.
Thanks for the data. Ørnakken seems to be a mountain, I see it in Google Earth. I see Valle and Lommstoenna there, in what direction was it from there, and which altitude?

Very interesting! The collection was made in the middle of Ørnakken Nature Reserve, ca. 130 m alt. in North-Western slope (so not at high elevation). I attach a map showing the location and coordinates.
The collection will be reported as Trichopeziza sp. and will be visible in GBIF in a few days
