Hymenoscyphus on Betula leaves
Juuso Äikäs, 29-10-2020 17:28
There were plenty of these growing on decaying Betula sp. leaves.

Spores fusiform, with tiny dark drops, measuring 13.4-16 x 6.5-7.1 micrometres. Praphyses cylindrical, top parts full of rapidly moving VBs. Margin also with VBs. Croziers present, IKI+(b).

Seems like a Hymenoscyphus once again, but further I can't tell.

Re : Hymenoscyphus on Betula leaves
I am unable to say. The apos look rather small, are they? Any stipe?

A section of the excipulum could give some further hint. Cudoniella probably, but spores quite large, larger than in H. imberbis which is a Cudoniella too.

Re : Hymenoscyphus on Betula leaves
The apos are quite small -- the largest ones maybe a millimeter in diameter or so. And they do have a stipe. Making a section would be quite difficult, but maybe I'll try it a bit later.
