Ascobolus kept in the dark!

On December 16, 2020, a friend found some ascomata (diameter < 1.5 mm) on rabbit dung that he kept in a small box, wet and dark.
On 6 January 2021 I performed microscopy. Could it be that the maturation has stopped (three weeks in the dark) because the asci don't protrude above the paraphyses and apparently the asci walls dissolved. I key out on Ascobolus albidus but the spore sizes are not quite correct. Can you help me?
spores: 17,23-27,11 x 9,85-14,06 µm Q= 1.8
paraphyses: 3.5 µm diameter, filiform, septated, apex curved
texture: from globulosa to angularis and prismatica

Salut François.
Effectivement, difficile d'affirmer un nom, ton champignon semble ne pas s'être développer normalement. La forme et la couleur des apothécies éloignent d'A.albidus, même si les mesures des spores sont correctes; pour A.michaudii les spores sont un peu trop grandes. Si tu as d'autre matériel peut être pourrais tu en remettre en culture.

Merci beaucoup pour votre réaction. Je vais contacter cet ami. Avec une "douleur" au cœur, cette trouvaille apparaîtra également dans le UFO-fichier (Unidentified Fungal Objects!).
Espérons que ce fichier restera pratiquement vide cette année. Merci quand même pour cette suggestion motivante.
