Pyrenopeziza (?) from Amelanchier, French Alps
Lothar Krieglsteiner, 01-08-2024 15:43
Lothar Krieglsteiner... 6.7.24, alpine situation (near Glacier), same small bush (only about 0,5 m high) of Amelanchier ovalis than the last post (Hyalopeziza).
With different keys I do not come to a good result - I end at P. (Mollisia) myricariae but there are some differences.
Unfortunately, the specimen was not fully ripe, so I did find only quite few (but some) free spores.
They contain few oil (few small drops, 0-1) and measure about 7,5-9/2-2,5 µm. The asci are IKI-negative and bear croziers. The marginal hairs are not very conspicuous microscopically (brown, like the prolongued excipulum), but macroscopically.
Who has an idea?
Best regards, Lothar

Urs Roffler and Javier Bometon have a specimen on Fraxinus and indet. wood in my folder "brown hairs IKI- 8-13 x 2", but the hairs are also microsc. very distinctive.

Mollisia myricariae is a synonym of M. ligni.

Re : Pyrenopeziza (?) from Amelanchier, French Alps
Hello Zotto,
thank you very much!
When I compare Pyrenopeziza "brown hairs IKI- 8-13 x 2" I find many common features and not obvious deviations - so this seems to be a good hint. Unfortunately one without a name - as so often.
Best regards, Lothar
