French Alps, 13.7.24, on twig of either Alnus alnobetula or Salix below a mixed shrub above road side. I think a lot is fitting for T. relicina: the rb-ascus-apex, the "ornamented" paraphyses, the very long and macroscopically teeth-like agglutinated hairs, etc. I noted asci with croziers but have no foto of this.The spores I measured a bit small, only about 10-13/2-2,3, but this could still fit. Has somebody else found T. relicina on wood?

My literature database gives a lot of different herbaceous plants but also one case of wood: Sambucus racemosa (Haines 1974: 234). My personal studies include only herbs.
I recommend to verify the host genus ba a radial section of the wood (ladder-perforations in Alnus vs. simple perforations in Salix). Also a cross-cut would distinguish the two.
Breitenbach & Kränzlin also give only spores of 8-12 µm

now I made section through the crumbly wood. I think it should be Alnus then?

impossible for Alnus. Could be Acer but the radial sections I cannot interpret, one needs a hit through such a vessel as we see in the cross section.

As I already posted in the first contribution, there was a bush of Alnus alnobetula and Salix above the findplace. Other trees and bushes grew only far away (Picea, Rhododendron).
