Black discomycete on decorticated branch of Sambucus nigra, disc first closed (hysteriform), later expanding, polygonal, shiny, with enrolled margin with a few crenulae, up to 0.4 mm in diam;In section: exciple closed at base, dark brown, K-, with abundant very fine, anticlinal periphyses at upper lateral exciple, (not well visible in these fotos),
Hamathecium of fine paraphysoides, ramifying,
Asci cylindrical, 75-85 x 10 µm, with 8 biseriately arranged ascospores, no reaction in KJ (controlled),
ascospores long fusiform, 30–40 x 5–6 µm, hyaline, 3–7 septate, with one oildroplet/ cell, no epispore.
