On Washingtonia
Enrique Rubio, 21-02-2025 19:28
Enrique RubioPerhaps someone can help me to identify this pyrenomycete that grew gregariously on Washingtonia leaves, inside more or less circumscribed light brown spots. The asci appear bitunicate and the pseudothecia are very small, up to 150 microns in diameter, deeply immersed in the substrate, ostiolate and with an amber-coloured, non-translucent content. Pseudoparaphyses very few but perhaps present. Spores hyaline, naviculate, very guttulate, without septa.

Re : On Washingtonia

Re : On Washingtonia
Hello Joao
Of course if you give me an address I could send you ascomata of this fungus. Our colleague Angel Pintos has tried to obtain pure cultures, but although the ascospores germinated well, the growth stopped and has hardly progressed.
thank you very much for your help.
