Small white asco on incubated wood
Francois Guay, 29-03-2025 06:21
Francois GuayHi!

I found this interesting tiny ascomycete on incubated wood from a clear freshwater stream.

-75 µm wide

-Asci 8-spored, IKI–

-Spores: 10–11.5 × 3.6–3.7 µm

Here is the link for photos : https://www.inaturalist.ca/observations/267444259

Any idea what it is? Thank you

Re : Small white asco on incubated wood
The hairs clearly point to a Hyaloscypha. I suggest comparison wth H. intacta and the very similar H. minuta, given that the asci are simple-septate.
