Unknown aquatic pyrenomycete
Hartmut Schubert, 18-04-2025 21:54
Hartmut SchubertHi Forum,

I found this aquatic pyrenomycete a few days ago in a stream (Germany), presumably on Acer. Spores 1S and lightly colored, 14.5-16 x 5.2-6.5µm. Many thanks for your help and best regards, Hartmut

Re : Unknown aquatic pyrenomycete
Hi Harmut,
You have to give more informations.
It's almost impossible to identify fungi with information on the spore alone, or at least you need to get into the habit of giving a more complete description: that of the ascomata, with a better view, and sometimes vertical section are informative, and that of microscopical feature like hamathecium, asci,... it's very important to know if they are unitunicate or bitunicate (yours seems unitunicate, try iodine reaction please).
Friendly,
Alain
