Geoglossum
Malcolm Greaves, 25-01-2026 16:08
Malcolm GreavesThis Geoglossum had spores mostly 70-80 (87) with 7 septa. The first couple of paraphyses I found with short bulbous elements made me think it was just cookeanum but alomost all the rest were swollen but with wider septation than I would have expected in this species.
Any thoughts or suggestions?Thanks
Mal

Re : Geoglossum
Hello,
In my opinion it's G. cookeanum.
In which habitat was this earth tongue found?
Kind regards
Luc Lenaerts

Thanks Luc, it was the sketch and micrographs in you book showing almost all paraphyses with pear/barrel shaped cells that made me doubt the id of cookeanum.
It was in uncultivated grassland.
