Bonjour, After a late discovery of a nice collection of Cejpia hystrix, I have just read the taxonomic demonstration which lead to the combination Cejpia hystrix (De Not.) Baral . (BARAL H.-O. 1994. Comments on "Outline of the ascomycetes - 1993". - Systema Ascomycetum 13: xx-xx. )
This text was concluded by ''Therefore, the best solution appears to adopt the genus Cejpia for the single species B. hystrix and to abandon the use of the ambiguously applied name Belonium. A thorough study of the Hysteropezizella-complex on living material is necessary to clarify the relation between Cejpia and Coronellaria.''
I wonder whether this relation has now been clarified ?
I can see in the Syllabus Ascomycota its placement in the Hysteropezizella lineage whithin the supra Mollisiaceae lineage .

yeah, this is a wonderful species. I am unaware of molecular research on it, but what I see in GenBank is Hysteropezizella diminuens and (very new!) Cejpia hystrix. Coronellaria caricinella and H. subvelata are inofficial sequences. When at home tomorrow I will do an analysis on these four.

Trouvé en abondance le 22.07.2011 sur Phragmites dans la réserve naturelle des Pâtis à Le Mesnil sur Oger (Champagne).

I never saw the species on other than Molinia, but there actually exist reports on Phramites and Typha.
Attached is a NJ tree which shows the state of knowledge. The three clay-coloured genera are not assocoated with strong support, so a molecular approach would not postulate a close relationship.
