Coelomycète s/ Carex divulsa subsp.leersii
Luc Bailly, 22-03-2012 00:37

Re : Coelomycète s/ Carex divulsa subsp.leersii
This will not be much help Luc, but I have made many 'coelomycete' collections on Carex (and also on Poaceae) which do not correspond to any descriptions I can find

W.B. Grove's "British Stem and Leaf Fungi" can sometimes help with a name, but how many true species are involved seems far from clear

best wishes

Chris

Re : Coelomycète s/ Carex divulsa subsp.leersii
Hi Chris,
Yes, it seems there's still much, much work to be done for those fungi. Especially the ones with microconidia.
After checking Ellis, I've checked in Grove (I got it from Cyberliber). And when one has no idea, Saccardo, it takes way too much time!

And yes, there's the problem of: how many are true species, but also, how many are yet poorly described/studied, if at all. Stutton (1980) was very careful himself...

Cheers - LUC.
