Melanomma fuscidulum on Aster tripolium ?
Maren Kamke, 19-10-2013 09:15
Maren KamkeHi everybody,

I found this pyrenomycete on Aster tripolium.

Perethecia 0,2 mm wide. Spores brown, verruculose, (18,5-24) 21,15 x 7,45 (7-8) µm, 3-septate with a slightly larger second cell. Asci 100-116x10-11 µm, Ikl porus-reaction negative. Paraphyses cylindrical up to 1,5 µm.

The surrounding host tissue stained partly reddish purple. My guess is Melanomma fuscidulum, but I'm not sure, if the asci really are biseriate or if this fungus appears even on herbaceous plants.

Thanks

Regards Maren
