Melanospora cf. lagenaria on old, rotting, fallen
Hi there,
I am trying to identify a non-stromatic pyrenomycete growing on submerged wood in a small stream from Tyresta, south to Stockholm (Sweden). The are is granitic and the water was dystrophic.
The perithecia grow in small groups, semiimmersed or almost superficial. the venter globose-subglobose, 0.6-0.8 mm, black, with a short cylindrical neck, apparently smooth. Asci unitunicate, cylindrical, 8-spored, with a distinct apical annulus, inamyloid (tested in Melzer), 196-210 x 10-11 µm. Spores ellipsoid-fusiform, with abundant guttules, 3-septate, 25.5-28.5 x 8.5-9.5 µm. The perithecial wall is composed of several layers of subglobose cells.
I initially thought it might be a Chaetosphaeria, but the asci are inamyloid. Then I searched in Ceratosphaeria, and also Zignöella, but did not find any species that fit.
Any idea? Thanks in advance!
Cheers,
Ibai.
See towards Annulusmagnus triseptatus

Oh you were too fast Martin ! Grrrrr....
Thanks Martin and Alain! I had ruled out Annulatascaceae for some reason, but it fits A. triseptatus with no doubt.
I see now that there was a previous record of A. triseptatus from south Sweden.
Cheers,
Ibai.
