on the same piece of decidious wood on which the Phaeohelotium trabinellum grows are small redbrown apothecia. They are very small with 0,05 mm max, the turbinate apothecia are fleshcoloured to redbrown and become black with age.
Spores (6-10) 8,5 x 2,91 (2,5-3) µm, hyalin, 1-septate, already in the ascus. Asci 8-spores, biseriate, IKL negative, 52-54 x 6-9 µm with croziers. There are asci? which seem to have no spores and a somewhat purplebrown content which goes into the medium with KOH treatment. Paraphyses are septate and branched and apikal hooked, 1,5 µm.
My guess is Durella uncinata.
Thanks
Regards Maren

Re : Durella sp. ?
Hi Maren
oh yes, this is my "Durella uncinata". Not often encountered. We had it on Quercus, Fraxinus, Carpinus, Corylus, Alnus, and Tilia, but I think always on attached branches.
Did you look whether your wood is ring-pored? Then it could easily be determined.

Ja, habe ich, die gezeigten Elemente sind da. Alnus ist in dem Gebiet auch häufig vertreten.
