Hello to everybody,On an old collection on corticated branch of Platanusxhispanica I found 3-distoseptate dark greenish brown conidia 42-49x16-18 µm. I wonder if this belongs to the anamorph of Splanchnonema platani or something else.
Your help is welcome. I am interested in papers treating the anamorphs of Splanchnonema.

Hi Bernard,
on a quick search in my files I found only one paper on Splanchnonema and anamorphs concerning S. argus on Betula (attached). Conidia look quite different.

Ta photo n'est pas très explicite mais je suppose qu'il s'agit de l'anamorphe de
Splanchnonema platani : Macrodiplodiopsis desmazieresii. Je connais bien ces
deux taxons, je les ai souvent récoltés; très fréquents sur branches tombées
de platane de décembre à fin mars.

like Paul wrote, this is surely Macrodiplodiopsis desmazieresii, the anamorph of Splanchnonema platani.
It is a very common species on twigs on Platanus.
I'll attach a further picture, too.
A nice work to the Pleomassariaceae (incl. Splanchnonema) by M.E.Barr you can find at Mycotaxon:

I had already the Polish paper but thank you anyway, Martin.
In the mean time I have consulted Sutton (1980: 110-111) and the conidia presented there are strongly distoseptate, with one slightly tapering end. So, into my opinion, the conidia on my photo probably differ from those of M desmazieresii. Another cryptic species?
