Hi there,

some days ago i found this pyreno on Yucca aloifolia in the botanical garden Bochum.
I think it's a Phaeosphaeriopsis but could that be P. obtusispora ?
My spores are only 5-septated and young greenish-yellow, but in Lugol and Melzer they become turquoise. The brown mature spores have no reaction.
Is this turquoise reaction normally ?

after Klaus sent me your images before, I thought the spores are always ochraceous in water (of course hyaline when young). Now I read that they are immature greenish-yellow. Could you provide a photo of that, to see how different the colour in water vs. IKI is?

Yes, but there I see only ochraceous spores, none with greenish-yellow tint. I assume that it is the ochraceous spores which turn turquois in iodine? Immature spores are probably hyaline and not yet warted and with smaller LBs? And such immature spores are inamyloid or amyloid?

Die ockerfarbenen Sporen sind die grün-gelben Sporen, nur ich wusste nicht wie ich die Farbe definieren sollte, weil es für mich grün-gelblich aussieht.
Und auch genau diese verfärben sich Türkis.
Ich konnte keine hyalinen Sporen finden, weil ich davon ausgegangen bin das die ockerfarbenen Sporen die unreifen sind.
Ansonsten hat sich alles Türkis verfärbt außer die braunen Sporen.
Ich habe nicht mehr viel Pilzmaterial, aber falls ich weiteres einsammeln kann, dann werde ich das genauer Untersuchen.

Ja stimmt, die werden ja dunkelbraun. Und bei denen ist die Jodreaktion vielleicht kaum noch wahrnehmbar, schon wegen der Farbe.

Es hat mir einfach keine Ruhe gelassen.
Heute neues Material eingesammelt und das kam dabei heraus.
Die jungen Sporen zeigen keine Türkise Farbveränderung, ebenfalls sind die Jungen Sporen 2-3 fach septiert.
Es scheint so als ob die Türkise Farbe nur bei den Sporen auftritt, die ein Ornament mit der Ockerfarbe haben.

Ja wirklich, ist schon sehr eigenartig. Ich kenne amyloide Sporen bei Durella connivens und Strossmayeria basitricha, aber nur wenn sie überreif und tot sind bekommt man die leichte Blaufärbung.
