Bonsoir,

Ascospores : 11,5-14,5 x 3-4,2

Asques : 60-75 x 4-8 µm, contenant huit spores.

Re : Orbilia subalpine
Hi Andgelo

interesting collection! We tried to identify it but there is no clear solution. It is a member of section Habrostictis without doubt. Very similar is Orbilia mesaverdiana regarding spore size and shape, SBs, and crystalloid SCBs. The paraphyses in your fungus are not so swollen above and tend to be a bit mammiform or moniliform. How large are the apos? In O. mesaverdiana they are 0.2-0.5 mm diam.

Of course it would be a surprize to find this species, which is known from semiarid mountainous regions of N-America, in a humid alpine environment of Europe.
