As someone who worked for many years as a natural sciences curator in museums I hope when digitising they find people who can read handwriting.
I know that sounds strange, but when working with younger colleagues I was struck by how the writing-with-a-keyboard generations understandably find it difficult to read older handwritten labels. I was often treated as some sort of magician when able to decipher the handwriting of some botanists / mycologists / geologists of years gone by.
