Yesterday I found this ascomycete on a half-dead, still attached, twig of Ilex aquifolium (The Netherlands). Thin perithecia, diameter about 220 µm, with pretty small ostioles.
I measured two asci: 55,0 x 9,5 and 61,1 x 9,5 µm. 8 spores per ascus. Spores in water had much refractive content: (16,1-)17,6 - 20,4 x 4,0 - 5,1 µm; average 19,0 x 4,5 µm; Q=4,24. Details of paraphyses, see pictures.
In Melzer's reagens: Asci J-, bitunicate(?). Spores suddenly appeared to be at least 3-septate. Couldn't find a good fit in Microfungi on Land Plants.
Anyone of you an idea which species this is, or to which genus this belongs?
Best regards, William

Re : on Ilex aquifolium
Hallo,
to me it looks like a lichenized fungus
my guess is Porina aenea,
the thallus should contain trentepohlioid alga but sometimes it happens the lichen persists on dying-off stems and twigs and looks like a saprophytic fungus
the ascus apex is typically obtuse, "cut-off" -like
