Interesting, is this from the monitored Populus log?
I think it could be related to Starbaeckia pseudotryblidioides, which is however only known from Pinus. The macro and micro resemblance is great. I have similar collections from Picea and Larix.
This sample would be interesting to sequence too.

Thanks, Adam. Yes, it's from the same Populus log. There is one specimen of S. pseudotryblidioides from Norway (Nordén 2020), but I haven't checked on what substrate. I'll get back to you.

It turns out Mathias Andreasen (NINA in Oslo) would very much like to try to sequence it as part of ongoing work. However, it seems like we have more and can find even more material, so it should be possible to send to you, if you're interested.
