Re : Nectriaceae on dung
Hi Maren,
I don't know what that is, maybe a Nectriopsis but there is no known species of this genus on dung.
Asexual state on the perithecia seems acremonium-like, this character fits well with the genus Nectriopsis. Could you make a vertical section of the lateral, ascomatal wall and check the thickness?
All the best,
Christian

Re : Nectriaceae on dung
Hi Christian,
it was very difficult to get a fine cut of the wall, because it is very thin with 10 to 15 µm. I think there are max 3 cellayers in the wall. The color gets darker with age.
There are black dots on the substrate, so I think this species maybe is growing on old coprophilus pyrenomycetes. But I couldn't find fungal structures there.

Hi Maren,
bring all unknown (or known) interesting ascos to Rommerz when we will meet tomorrow. I can try to make a thin section of the Nectria s.l.

björn
