Zuzana Sochorová (Egertová)Hello,
I think this is Olla millepunctata, but I would like to know an opinion of somebody more experienced.
Fruitbodies measure up to 0.5 mm, grew in a numerous group on a decorticated twig of Salix or Populus. Found yesterday in Moravia (the Czech Republic), in a wet place near a pond, 185 m asl.
Spores +- ellipsoid, somewhat asymmetrical, hyaline, smooth, with few very little droplets, 6.5-8.5 x 1.7-2 micrometers.
Asci 42.5-58 x 5-6 micrometers, IKI + (blue without KOH pretreatment), octosporic, cylindrical, biseriate, without croziers.
Paraphyses straight, septate, 1-1.5 micrometers broad.
Hairs hyaline, 22-37 x 2.5-4 micrometers, the part with hyaline content 13-28 micrometers long.
Excipulum - textura prismatica, cells 10-27 x 7-9 micrometers.
I hope Olla scrupulosa is a synonym of O. millepunctata.
Thanks in advance,
Zuzana

Re : Olla
I prefer to use scrupulosa for samples on wood because of wider spores (*1.7-2.5 vs. *1.5-2), but the limits are questionable and the aggregate rather variable. Nobody sequenced these fungi so far except for one N-American sequence.

Re : Olla
Palo, thank you for remark. However, I cannot see the change of color neither in Lugol nor in Baralsche Loesung in my collection.
Zotto, thanks a lot.

Re : Olla
It is not the hair tip but the entire hair that stains purplish-brown in IKI or MLZ. Here a photo.

Hmm, I tried it once more, but my fungus apparently doesn´t work.
