Pachyella punctispora?
Marek Capoun, 10-10-2021 17:35
Marek CapounAnd one more question from me for today.
It was the first time for me, when I saw the genus Pachyella.
Can I consider this collection to be Pachyella punctispora?
Found on a rotting branch of Picea lying in a creek along with Adelphella babingtonii, 780 m above sea level.
Apothecia max. 11 mm in diameter, hymenium violet-brown, outer side whitish. The flesh without yellow color. Hyphoid hairs seem to me like the texture porrecta - do I see correctly?
Ascospores 22.1 × 12.9 µm, ornamented with very fine dot-like warts. The tops of paraphyses up to 8 µm.
Thank you for your answers.
Marek

Re : Pachyella punctispora?
The external hyphoid hairs are embedded in an gelatinous matter, this is why it's not easy to observe them. they seem to be rather short and in conformity with those I observed in P. punctispora.
As I studied only one time this species, I hope that someone else could share his experience.

Re : Pachyella punctispora?
Thanks, it's probably a rarer species, isn't it? I hope someone else will join...
