Lachnum on Carex
Juuso Äikäs, 14-06-2022 22:22
Yesterday I was visiting an open bog, and found some Lachnums growing on a dead leaf of Carex sp.

Asci without croziers, IKI+(bb). Paraphyses up to 5 µm wide, asci about 50 x 5 µm.

There were possibly a few VBs to bee seen in the outer hairs. I didn't see any VBs in the paraphyses, but it's of course possible that they were just destroyed.

Spores:

(8.7) 9.1 - 10.4 (10.6) × (1.5) 1.6 - 1.8 (1.9) µm
Q = (5.3) 5.4 - 6 (6.9) ; N = 10
Me = 9.7 × 1.7 µm ; Qe = 5.7

Re : Lachnum on Carex
I assume it is L. caricis. VBs in the paraphyses are often sparse in that species.

Ah, I've actually found that one before on Juncus, but didn't manage to make the connection. Thanks!
