Orbilia on Viburnum

I found this Orbilia on Viburnum lantana. Might this be O. ovalis or am I completely misled? According to the monograph, it was not found on Adoxaceae yet.

The spores in the picture measure 3.2 - 3.7 - 4.3 x 3.0 - 3.1 - 3.3µm Q avg = 1.2

Thanks in advance and best regards
Philipp

Re : Orbilia on Viburnum
Wonderful spore photos! What I miss is a closeup of the asci and paraphyses. The latter seem to be capitate without prominent exudate. There is no ascus apical thickening?

I also arrive at ovalis, but the spores are too small. I measured 3-3.7 x 2.8-3.1, and on a photo with low resolution 3.8-4.5 x 2.5-3.

In sections Orbilia or Ovoideae I do not see a match.

Hi Zotto

I don't have a steady hand tonight and didn't manage to get good photos. I will try again at the weekend...

But I guess you're right, asci without apical thickenig, paraphyses capitate without prominent exudate. So this points to another section?

The spore bodies point to series Ovales, but it could be a new species I fear.
