Pyrenopeziza on Salix
Juuso Äikäs, 28-01-2023 12:27
These were growing on a piece of thick Salix caprea bark attached to a dead(?), standing tree.

Macroscopically these looked quite fresh, but under the microscope most of the asci looked deformed - swollen, and many spores seemed to be germinating.

Asci 8-spored, with croziers, IKI negative. Paraphyses narrowly cylindrical, without VBs. The spores measure 7.5 - 10.6 × 3.2 - 3.9 µm.

Any hope getting to species level?

Re : Pyrenopeziza on Salix
Strange! Reminds me of P. viridula but the spores are too broad and the LBs too small. I made a new folder.
