I recently examined Celtis occidentalis branches
I'm completely in the dark here. I would be very grateful for your opinions.
Found on debarked Hedera_helix.
The black apothecia are approx. 300 -500 ym in diameter.
The spores are 3 times septate and measure:
Spores [95% - 14 - QPr - v - H2O(nat) ] = (9,2)9,4 - 11,7 - 13,9 x 2,7 - 4,1 - 5,4(6) µm.
The saccular ascis measure approx. 40-45 x 9 - 12.5 ym.
The reaction of almost the whole ascus in Melzers is blue.
Many thanks for your opinions
Kind regards
Dirk
compare the genus Dactylospora (Sclerococcum). More problem will likley be to say something on species level.
Yours, Lothar
Great, thank you very much for your quick answer.
Your hint on the genus level helps me a lot. I will look into the matter at my leisure.
The topic of this lichenised/non-lichensed genus seems to me to be extremely complex.
I quickly compared it with your mushroom of the month, as I said, the genus probably fits, but there are a lot of species.
Thanks again and best regards
Dirk
