Nitschkia on populus?
Margot en Geert Vullings, 12-04-2023 15:39
We found these black fruit bodies on (most likely) poplar along with a Nectria like species.
When cut, the black fruit bodies contain a white jelly.
The spores are curved with a 1 Sept. No asci could be found.
Spore sizes average: Me = 16.1 × 2.8 µm ; Qe = 5.7
From Riet van Oosten we received the suggestion of Nitschkia.
Could this be correct?

She saw N. parasitans on Nectria cinnabarina.
This Nectria species has a different spore size: Me = 9.3 × 3.5 µm ; Qe = 2.6 and
asci: Me = 47.6 × 5 µm

Thanks in advance,
Margot
