Is this Hypoxylon rubiginosum?

KOH extractable pigments orange

Yellow granules beneath the surface

Ostioles umbilicate

Ruud thinks the wood is softwood.

I tried woodanatomy, but only got a tangential section.

I wonder if this is softwood.

Hi Martin,

Ruud did not notice any Robinias and he does not know if they were ever there, but Robinia could be, microscopically it looks very similar.

So we can exclude softwood :-)
