Strongly versicolourous, triseptate Spores
Stefan Blaser, 08-03-2022 17:46
Dear all,

I am at a loss with this collection. Good ideas are very welcome!

Substrate: Thin, corticated branch of Tilia

Macro: Perithecia up to 0.3 mm in diameter, globose, black, seated just below cortex. Singly or in small groups. Only visible as very slight bumps on the Cortex.

Micro:
Asci 175-220 x 18-22 µm, cylindric, distinctly thick-walled when young.
Spores four-celled strongly versicolourous with two completely hyaline end-cells and two brown middle cells, 24.5 -29.5 x 10-12 µm. Spore surface in mature spores rough with very inconspicuous hyaline warts (might also be some artifact?).

Good ideas are very welcome!

Many thanks and best wishes,

Stefan
