Yes, reddish-violaceous. In contrast to virtembergensis which reacts pure red-brown, I. ciliare reacts first blue, at higher concentration reddish. This is not easy to observe, and maybe it varies a bit, but it seems a difference, besides other traits like hair wall thickness. The asci arise in both species from simple septa.
